Kyra: Not able to run MIDI over USB without having ASIO turned on in a DAW.

For whatever reason, MIDI over USB only works when ASIO is turned on.
This makes no sense whatsoever, since even my Roland GAIA works correctly (in other words, MIDI over USB without hogging the only ASIO slot).
So, my idea of using MOTU for vocals while running mains out of the KYRA are foiled.

This needs to be addressed ASAP.

Also, I'm already signed in, why do I have to prove that 'I'm not a robot'?

I'm not sure I understand you right. But it is possible to use MIDI via USB without defining KYRA as audio driver.
If you only want to use MIDI via USB, you can use a different audio driver like MOTU, for example.

By the way. There is a new OS Version available on our support page.

OK, so for anyone else who runs into this, you have to turn off 'sound card' mode by going into SYSTEM.
